Mortimers specialise in purchasing commodities direct from farm and supply local malsters, feed and flour mills.
We have excellent relationships with local and national consumers and have access to export facilities, the pet food industry as well as national compounders, millers and malsters.
Grain can be collected from farm, or can be delivered for storage and drying. A well equipped laboratory ensures that all commodities can be tested and graded quickly and effectively.
Forward Contracts are available for most commodities. Collection from the farm is organised from one of our wagons or carefully chosen outside hauliers.

We buy both feed wheat and barley as grown and can also offer drying facilities or price reductions where necessary on damp grain. We offer forward contracts or spot movement to suit farmers needs including the flexibility of harvest movement.
We supply malting barley on contract or open market throughout the year to several maltings within the local area. We offer a range of malting barley buy-back contracts. Please speak to the office for further details.
Mortimers have historic strong trading relationships with both local and national flour millers within the UK.
We buy rapeseed to supply the crush in Liverpool and also for export markets. We offer storage and drying facilities.
Mortimers are active traders of feed beans, peas and linseed for export markets and also to the UK animal feed industry.
Mortimers are active in all markets with access to export outlets through our trade partners. We are also well placed to supply local compounding businesses, either for incorporation or for speciality feeds. We also trade in human consumption peas.
We trade oats for human consumption and animal feeds. We also purchase naked oats, used for pharmaceutical, baby and micronised foods.
We offer a wide range of contracts designed to match your price risk management plans. These enable growers to select the best product to suit requirements in terms of movement and cash flow, whilst generating improved returns.
